Journalist and media figure Samir Omar, head of the news channels sector at the United Media Services Company, said that US President Donald Trump referred in the recent press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu to the efforts made by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for peace, and he is right in that, emphasizing that Egypt does not need Trump’s recognition.

Omar added in his interview with media presenter Nashat Al-Dihei on the program “With Pen and Paper” on Ten TV that Egypt’s role in the Palestinian cause is acknowledged by all, even before Trump appeared on the political stage.

He continued: “The press conference also mentioned the Gulf leaders and the Turkish president, and in my opinion, Trump wanted to give what he presented an Arab and Islamic cover by approving it.”

He explained that he believes Trump’s plan has many problems and obstacles, but the main obstacle to achieving this plan is what Netanyahu said, not Trump. The Israeli prime minister said, “There is no Palestinian state, and its existence is a danger to Israel,” and more dangerously, Trump said he understands that.
