Actress Samah Anwar appeared as a guest on the program “Waraqa Bayda” hosted by media personality Yomna Badrawi on Al-Nahar channel, where she discussed her artistic career and personal milestones, revealing many secrets about her personal and professional life.
Samah Anwar confirmed that she will not collaborate again with director Kamla Abu Zekry, saying, “I prefer to work only with professional people, and what happened in the film ‘Yom Lel Setat’ was a trivial issue that was blown out of proportion.”
She also clarified that she did not shave her hair in the series “Al-Sandouq” with Ahmed Dash, but wore a wig due to scene scheduling issues, while affirming she has the courage to do so if the role requires it.
The actress spoke about her artistic family, noting that her father, screenwriter Anwar Abdullah, wrote many films and songs for her mother, describing their love story as “one of the greatest love stories in history,” as her father died a few days after her mother passed away out of grief.
She added that her mother helped her a lot in raising her son, confirming she does not regret retiring from acting for about 20 years to dedicate herself to raising him.
She also recalled the major accident she suffered, saying, “I was in a coma for 3 days, underwent many surgeries, and doctors told me I would not be able to walk again, but I was confident I would return to my normal life.”
Regarding rumors linking her name to artist Samir Sabry, she denied them, confirming, “He was like a father and older brother to me, and if he had told me he loved me, I might have agreed, but he never expressed his feelings.”
