The number of food shipments arriving in the country reached about 1,655 shipments, totaling approximately 313 thousand tons, imported by 755 companies. The imported items included wheat, raw sugar, and various oils. Ukraine topped the list of exporting countries to Egypt last week, followed by Brazil, Russia, and Indonesia among a total of 77 countries that exported food products to the Egyptian market.
According to the Food Safety Authority, Alexandria Port continued to hold the first place in terms of the number of incoming food shipments, with a total of 415 shipments, followed by Port Said Port in second place with 305 shipments, then Cairo International Airport with 290 shipments.
Regarding customs clearances, 996 food shipments were released under custody (temporary release), while the number of shipments released under the fast clearance system reached 339 shipments. In the context of implementing the decisions of the Appeals Committee, 80 case reports were issued. Regarding import activity, import licenses were issued to 64 importers during the same period.
