Nutrition experts at the University of Cambridge in the UK explained that the timing of banana consumption plays an important role in how the body benefits from its nutrients, noting that choosing the right time can multiply its health benefits and reduce negative effects.
The study confirmed that eating bananas in the morning provides the body with immediate energy due to their natural carbohydrates, but the best time to eat them is after a balanced meal containing protein and healthy fats, as this helps stabilize blood sugar levels.
Researchers also indicated that ripe bananas are rich in antioxidants and potassium, making them beneficial for heart health, lowering blood pressure, and improving mood.
Conversely, diabetics are advised to avoid eating bananas in the evening to prevent nighttime glucose spikes, while consuming them before exercise is an ideal source of quick energy and muscle performance enhancement.
