Internationally, Mokhtar Mokhtar played 42 matches for the Egyptian national team.
As a coach, Mokhtar worked with Al Ahly’s youth sector and later as assistant coach of the first team alongside Portuguese Manuel Jose.

Mokhtar coached clubs such as Ghazl El Mahalla, Al Masry, and Petrojet, which performed strongly under his leadership from 2005 to 2010.
He also coached several Arab clubs like Al Wehda in Saudi Arabia, Dhofar, and Al-Oruba in the Omani league.
