Saudi national team coach Renard is expected to announce the roster of ‘Al-Akhdar’ players joining the external training camp in the Czech Republic at the beginning of September during the FIFA international window. The national team will play two friendly matches: the first against Macedonia on Thursday, September 4 at 6:00 PM at Victoria Žižkov Stadium, and the second against the Czech Republic on Monday, September 8 at 8:15 PM at Malšovická Stadium in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. These matches are part of the preparation program for the Asian World Cup qualifying playoff matches against Indonesia on Wednesday, October 8 at 8:15 PM and Iraq on Tuesday, October 14 at 10:30 PM, both at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah. The Saudi delegation will depart from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Sunday afternoon heading to the Czech Republic to join the external camp in preparation for the Asian playoff matches.
Saudi Arabia is placed in Group B of the Asian playoff alongside Iraq and Indonesia, while Group A includes Qatar, UAE, and Oman. The six teams compete for two direct qualification spots to the World Cup, alongside six other teams that already qualified directly in the previous round. The top team from each group qualifies directly, while the second-placed teams face an elimination match, with the winner advancing to the global playoff. The Asian teams that have already qualified directly for the 2026 World Cup are Japan, South Korea, Australia, Iran, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.
