Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman of the Administrative Capital Company, revealed details about launching 100 new scholarships for top high school graduates from Upper Egypt and border areas as part of the “100 Dreams for the Future” initiative launched two years ago under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The scholarship supports 100 top students, expanding from only Upper Egypt in its first year to include border governorates in the second year, continuing this year with 100 new students joining their predecessors. The company fully sponsors the students, considering them part of its family, partnering with five international universities in the capital, which contribute 50% of the tuition fees while the company covers the remaining 50% plus 50% of transportation costs. The company also provides all study supplies, a monthly allowance for accommodation and personal expenses, and the latest laptops suitable for their university majors.
Currently, the company sponsors 160 students (62 from the first batch and 98 from the second) and offers summer training opportunities within its various sectors. Scholarships are offered at five prestigious international universities with branches in the new capital: Global University (branch of the University of Hertfordshire, UK), Knowledge University (branch of Coventry University, UK), Canadian University, German International University, and European University in Egypt. Students receive internationally accredited degrees from the parent universities, not local certificates. The cost of sponsoring students over the past two years has reached approximately 60 million Egyptian pounds, and the expected cost for the new 100 scholarships this year ranges between 25 to 30 million Egyptian pounds.
