The new service launched by DP World offers a maritime route utilizing the capabilities of Unifeeder, owned by DP World Group, specializing in refrigerated ships and containers. This maritime route provides a sustainable alternative to the congestion experienced at the waterways between Tangier and Algeciras, and between Calais and Dover, for goods destined for the United Kingdom.
Rashid Abdullah, CEO and General Manager of DP World Europe, said: “We are launching a solution specifically designed to serve transport operations from the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Kingdom and the European continent. The key elements of this service include reliability, fast transit times, and a modern IT platform. This service will offer exporters and retailers a practical alternative to current truck transport, ensuring improved product quality at a lower cost, with a significant reduction in carbon emissions.”
