Brazilian star David Luiz, the Chelsea icon and former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain defender, has enlisted his legal team to refute allegations by a woman who accused him of threatening her via Instagram.

Details reveal that Francesca Carolini Barbosa Cavalcanti (26), a mother, filed a case against the 38-year-old defender with the police, presenting screenshots of his messages threatening her with “money and power,” stating “her son will pay the price” and “I can simply make you disappear” after their relationship ended. The court ordered the player not to approach the woman. Luiz admitted to exchanging messages but denied ever meeting her. The woman said Luiz offered her £14,000 after she filed the complaint, which she refused.

The woman expressed fear for her life and her son’s due to the player’s direct threats to their safety, stating she feels terrified, monitored, and has had to change hotels multiple times.

Luiz, currently playing for Cypriot club Pafos, issued a statement saying: “I have not threatened anyone, nor this woman. I have never been with this woman nor gone to the hotel she claimed I visited.”

According to local reports, Luiz met Francesca online and invited her to a hotel in Fortaleza, northeast Brazil.
