Dutch forward Memphis Depay is one of the leading candidates to leave Brazilian club Corinthians before the summer transfer window closes, amid his escalating crisis with the club’s management. According to reports, the Brazilian club owes the former international striker about 1.7 million euros in performance bonuses, prompting Depay to seriously consider terminating his contract and moving to a new destination. Trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that three European clubs have entered negotiations with Depay’s representatives, noting that a free transfer remains the most likely option, especially since the player does not intend to waive his dues.
Although his 2025 stats in Brazil were not bad—35 matches with 8 goals and 10 assists—they did not meet the expectations of Corinthians fans, who expressed their rejection of his stay with angry phrases written on the training center walls such as “Depay is finished” and “You are not our role model.” Depay, formerly of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, is expected to receive a lucrative annual salary offer close to 19 million euros with bonuses if he returns to Europe.
