Captain Hamada Sedky confirmed that Al Ahly was not at its best at the start of the match, and that Zamalek had a golden chance to decide the game in the early minutes.
Sedky stated in his interview with journalist Ahmed Salem on the program “Kalima Akhira” on ON TV: “Zamalek missed two clear chances in the first 10 minutes, and if they had scored, the match would have been over. After scoring the goal, the team retreated unjustifiably and gave Al Ahly space to control the midfield.”
He added that the key to Al Ahly’s victory lies in the changes made by the coaching staff, praising Hussein El Shahat in particular, saying: “The secret to Al Ahly’s win today is Hussein El Shahat. His entry completely changed the shape of the match; he scored a goal, caused a penalty, and constantly posed a threat. Despite Al Ahly’s generally good performance, El Shahat was the real offensive difference.”
Regarding the team’s needs, Sedky pointed out that “Al Ahly still lacks a clear striker, a number 9 capable of finishing attacks inside the penalty area.”
