The official FIFA World Cup account celebrated the Egyptian national team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup after their victory over Djibouti, marking their fourth qualification in history. The World Cup account posted on Instagram a video highlighting Egypt’s participation in the 1990 World Cup in Italy and the 2018 World Cup in Russia, accompanied by the caption: “Glorious Egypt shines at the World Cup.”
Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time in its history after defeating Djibouti 3-0 in the match between the two teams. Egypt leads Group A in the African qualifiers with 23 points from 9 matches, ahead of the upcoming match against Guinea-Bissau in the tenth and final round of qualifiers, which the Pharaohs will play as a formality.
