The Israeli army radio announced that the release of the Israeli captives will be in two batches, the first starting at 8 AM local time.
This was reported by Cairo News Channel in a breaking news bulletin.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the return of the captives to Israel is a historic event.
He added, “There are significant security challenges ahead of us.”
Netanyahu explained, “We have achieved great victories and the war is not over.”
On the other hand, a source in Hamas stated that the movement has completed counting the living captives and distributing them to locations inside the Gaza Strip in preparation for their handover.
The source added, according to AFP, that delegations from the resistance and the Red Cross will meet tonight to agree on the mechanism for handing over the Israeli captives, and that the handover process will take place through three different axes in the Gaza Strip.
