Global star Jeremy Strong will play Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, in the second part of Aaron Sorkin’s drama The Social Network, originally released in 2010. The new film, titled The Social Reckoning, is set to hit theaters on October 9, 2026.
The new film also stars Oscar winner Maika Madison (Anora), Golden Globe winner Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), Bill Burr (The King of Staten Island), and Oscar nominee Strong (Succession), who confirmed his role as Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg.
The original film, written by Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, starred Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg, Andrew Garfield as investor Eduardo Saverin, and Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker, founder of Napster.
According to Variety magazine, the screenplay is based on Jeff Horwitz’s investigation in The Wall Street Journal titled “The Facebook Files,” which explored the company’s internal workings through leaked documents, revealing the harmful effects of the social media app on teenagers, as well as its deliberate spread of misinformation contributing to political violence.
