Captain Gamal Hamza sharply criticized Zamalek’s performance and coaching staff, affirming that the team gifted the match to their traditional rival.
Hamza said in his interview with journalist Ahmed Salem on the program “Last Word” on ON channel: “Zamalek played only the first 12 minutes well, and it was natural for them to lead by two clean goals. After that, the players felt they had settled the match and retreated strangely, even insisting on bringing Al Ahly back into the game despite them being completely out of it.”
Hamza criticized coach Ferreira’s decisions, adding: “I don’t understand the logic behind some substitutions. When you are losing, how do you take out the left back to bring in another left back? And why take out a defensive midfielder like Dunga and play Abdullah Al-Saeed in that position? These decisions negatively affected the team.”
When evaluating the players, Hamza said sharply: “Zizo today is zero out of ten, as are Ady El-Dabbagh and Samson. Players with these names cannot perform at this level in a top match.”
The two stars concluded their analysis by emphasizing that the league journey is still long and on the field, given that all the leading teams have stumbled and lost unexpected points at the start of the season.
In a special episode of “Last Word” with Ahmed Salem on ON channel, the analytical studio hosted two former Egyptian football stars, Captain Hamada Sedki, Al Ahly star, and Captain Gamal Hamza, Zamalek star, to analyze the summit match that ended with Al Ahly winning 2-1. The two stars agreed that Zamalek missed an early chance to decide the match, while they differed in evaluating the reasons for the match’s turnaround.
