Malian player Aliou Dieng of Al Ahly rejected the idea of playing in the Egyptian league if he decides to leave the Red Castle at the end of his contract this season.

The Malian player informed Al Ahly officials that he is not interested in the rumored tempting offer from Pyramids Club, as his goal is clear: to move to one of the Gulf leagues if his journey with the Red Giant ends.

Aliou Dieng tends to return to the Gulf after playing last season for Saudi club Al-Kholood on loan for one season.

Recently, Dieng’s name has been linked to offers from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, where clubs in these leagues have expressed interest in signing the Mali national team midfielder next summer or possibly in January if Al Ahly agrees.

Dieng is under contract with Al Ahly until the end of this season. The club officials want to renew his contract, but he requested to postpone the decision until after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which will be held in Morocco in late December and early January.

Dieng joined Al Ahly on July 5, 2019, coming from Mouloudia Club of Algeria in a deal worth 1.1 million euros for five seasons.
