The new Sports Law No. 171 of 2025 defines the responsibilities of the Egyptian Olympic Committee. Article 36 specifies that the committee is responsible for developing and protecting the Olympic movement in Egypt, representing Egypt in Olympic, global, continental, and regional sports events under the International Olympic Committee, organizing and leading delegations participating in these events, supervising accredited sports federations to ensure their effective and continuous role and compliance with the Olympic Charter, and collaborating with Olympic sports federations to develop their Olympic and regional activity programs. No sports entity is allowed to use the name of the Olympic Committee. The Egyptian Olympic Committee has the right to carry and use recognized Olympic symbols according to the Olympic Charter rules.
