The Official Gazette published the decision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to reshuffle the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Information, headed by journalist Diaa Rashwan, dated October 7, 2025, issued under number 567 of 2025.
The decision stipulates the reshaping of the board for three years and includes Ambassador Alaa Eldin Zakaria as Vice Chairman of the Authority, effective from January 1, 2026.
The board members are as follows:
- Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Vice Chairman of the Board, Egyptian Ambassador to France, and former official spokesperson of the Presidency.
- Mr. Mohamed Fahmy, Editor-in-Chief of the Egyptian Gazette and the English-language Egyptian Mail.
- Dr. Thuraya El-Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University.
- Dr. Mohamed Faiz Farhat, Chairman of the Board of Al-Ahram Foundation.
- Ms. Nevine Kamel, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram Hebdo, the French-language newspaper, and the first woman to hold this position.
- Mr. Abdel-Moati Abu Zeid, Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority for Foreign Media.
