Trump told reporters, “The next meeting will be between Zelensky and Putin, or between Zelensky and Putin with me present if necessary, but I will arrange a meeting between the two leaders.”

He added, “In the end, I will make sure they are in the same room, and I believe everything will be resolved.”

President Putin said at a press conference yesterday after his visit to China: “If Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow,” while the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry described the Russian president’s offer as “unacceptable in advance.”

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow currently has no plans to hold a meeting between Presidents Putin and Zelensky, confirming Putin’s readiness to meet when the meeting is well prepared.

Lavrov explained that the American proposals rejected by Zelensky were considered by the U.S. administration as a basis for resolving the crisis, and noted that Russia agreed to show flexibility on several issues raised by Trump.

The China Daily newspaper, in an article dedicated to the prospects for peaceful dialogue on Ukraine, pointed out that the prevailing contradiction in Kyiv’s actions is that it works hard to complicate the situation instead of making efforts to restore peace, including hitting energy facilities, especially those supplying Hungary and Slovakia with oil.

Russian President’s aide Yuri Ushakov told Russia-1 channel correspondent Pavel Zarubin on September 1 that the idea of raising the level of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in negotiations “does not accurately reflect” what the Russian and American presidents discussed during the Alaska summit.
