Australian Oscar Piastri, driver for McLaren, won the Dutch Grand Prix, the fifteenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, held today Sunday at the Zandvoort Circuit.

Piastri, the current leader in the drivers’ championship, outpaced Dutch star Max Verstappen of Red Bull and French driver Isaac Hajar of Racing Point, who finished third to make his first podium appearance.

George Russell and Alexander Albon completed the top five positions respectively.

Meanwhile, British driver Lando Norris, Piastri’s teammate at McLaren, suffered a severe setback in his hopes of winning the drivers’ championship this year after a car failure forced him to retire from the race despite being a fierce competitor to Piastri.

The Zandvoort Circuit witnessed a turbulent race with three safety car deployments and a valuable podium for rookie Isaac Hajar in what has been a remarkable season for him so far.

However, the biggest loser was undoubtedly Lando Norris, who withdrew due to car problems.

The second biggest losers were the Ferrari team, with both drivers retiring due to two separate incidents.

Oscar Piastri leads the overall Formula 1 championship standings with 309 points, 34 points ahead of his teammate Lando Norris, followed by Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, in third place with 205 points.
