According to the Kremlin press office statement, Putin held a phone call with Pezeshkian to brief him on the main outcomes of the Russia-U.S. summit held in Alaska on August 15. The discussions covered several issues including the war in Ukraine, economic relations, and international security matters. The Iranian president welcomed diplomatic efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
