Moscow – Reuters
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that the invitation for U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Russia is “on the table,” but there are currently no preparations for such a visit.
Putin extended the invitation when he met with Trump in Alaska last month, and he concluded their joint press conference by saying in English, “Next time in Moscow.”
Putin also asserted that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz unsuccessfully tried to evade the West’s responsibility for the “tragedy” in Ukraine when he described Putin as a war criminal.
Merz said in an interview with ProSieben Sat 1 on Tuesday that Putin “may be the most dangerous war criminal of our time,” adding that there is no room for leniency with such people.
