Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello accused the United States on Wednesday of committing 11 extrajudicial killings after US forces attacked a fast boat.

Washington claims the vessel belonged to the criminal gang ‘Tren de Aragua’ and was transporting drugs from Venezuela. US President Donald Trump posted a video of the attack and the subsequent explosion.

Cabello said, “They killed 11 people without regard for legal procedures. I wonder if this is possible.”

Earlier, Trump announced that US forces targeted a boat coming from Venezuela loaded with drugs and belonging to the terrorist-designated ‘Tren de Aragua’ organization, resulting in the death of 11 of its members.

Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social that “Tren de Aragua, a designated foreign terrorist organization, operates under the control of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and is responsible for mass killings, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, violence, and terrorism throughout the United States and the Western Hemisphere.”

It is worth noting that the US president vowed on his inauguration day to eradicate the ‘Tren de Aragua’ gang, known for its extreme danger, with activities including extortion, human trafficking, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and murder. The US State Department has also offered a multi-million dollar reward for information leading to the capture of its leaders.

Washington has arrested some suspects and gang members but has struggled to distinguish dangerous gang members from ordinary Venezuelan asylum seekers because Venezuela does not share security information with the US.

Venezuela classifies ‘Tren de Aragua’ as the country’s most powerful gang, to the extent that some Venezuelan police officers flee to the US to escape its brutality.
