On Monday evening, Minister of Sports Walid Sadie received the national taekwondo team, juniors and cadets, both male and female, at the ministry headquarters following their impressive results at the African Championship held in Nigeria from August 20 to 24. The reception was festive, attended by ministry officials and the president of the Algerian Taekwondo Federation, Yazid Ben Alloua. Minister Sadie congratulated the athletes and the technical and administrative staff on their performance and results. He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting this promising elite by providing optimal conditions for preparing for upcoming international competitions and enhancing efforts to develop taekwondo nationally through supporting young talents and expanding the sport across the country’s provinces. The national team won six medals, including a gold medal by champion Toumi Abdelrahman, two silver medals, and three bronze medals.
