The Chamber of Tourist Establishments and Restaurants, chaired by Yasser Al-Tajouri, announced the joining of more than 100 new restaurants and establishments under the umbrella of the tourism sector during the first seven months of 2025. This growth benefits from the privileges and facilities provided by Law No. 8 concerning the rules and requirements regulating tourist and hotel establishments.
Al-Tajouri confirmed that this step comes as part of the chamber’s efforts to include more restaurants whose activities align with the tourism sector and are subject to tourism supervision, provided they comply with the approved requirements that the state began implementing with the new law and its executive regulations. He emphasized that these facilities have helped attract restaurants of various levels and types to join the sector.
The chamber president pointed out that the large number of restaurants joining reflects the private sector’s confidence in the role the chamber plays and the diverse services it provides to its members, including:
- Representing members’ interests before ministries and government agencies and defending them in policies and legislation.
- Developing quality and safety standards, especially in food safety, to ensure the health of visitors and tourists.
- Organizing and developing the sector by setting controls and standards that raise the level of service in restaurants and cafeterias.
- Providing legal and administrative support through consultation and follow-up with members.
- Awareness and training through workshops and events to keep up with the latest developments in the restaurant industry.
- Cooperating with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and relevant authorities to facilitate licensing and supervision of tourist establishments.
Al-Tajouri confirmed that the chamber continues its efforts to increase its membership base, achieving integration among tourism sector institutions and contributing to enhancing the quality of services provided to tourists, considering restaurants as one of the pillars of the tourism experience in Egypt.
