The Community Education and Continuing Education Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar reopened its doors this summer to young and ambitious creatives through its renowned summer programs in art and design, providing them with a comprehensive introduction to university education in these fields and a glimpse into the world of arts and creativity. The programs ran throughout July until early August, welcoming 67 participants, including 32 high school students and 35 children aged 8 to 14, who engaged in practical workshops and digital storytelling. The summer program offered final-year high school students a unique opportunity to experience studying at Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Arts and Design in Qatar. Participants were introduced to studio art practices aligned with first-year university courses, helping them discover their passion and prepare for future studies in creative fields.
