Egypt’s national team secured a 1-0 lead against Guinea-Bissau in the first half of the match currently held at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the tenth and final round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The left-back Mohamed Hamdy scored the goal in the 10th minute of the first half, giving Egypt the lead in a match that was more of a celebration following their official qualification for the World Cup.

It is worth noting that Egypt had already secured qualification to the 2026 World Cup, making today’s match a formality. Despite this, the atmosphere was festive with strong support from the fans.

Mohamed Salah and Mamoosh Present in the Stadium

Notably, Egypt’s captain Mohamed Salah and his teammate Omar Mamoosh were present in the stands of Cairo Stadium to support the Pharaohs in this celebratory match. Also present were Marwan Attia and Mohamed El-Shenawy to celebrate with the players this great achievement after qualifying for the World Cup.
