German club Bayern Munich is close to signing Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson from English club Chelsea during the current summer transfer window. According to the British newspaper “The Sun,” Jackson has agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich, and negotiations are underway between the two clubs for a possible loan deal that may include an obligation for Bayern to buy the player permanently. Last week, the British newspaper revealed interest from a major club, later identified as Bayern Munich, in acquiring Jackson. Chelsea demands £60 million for a permanent sale of Jackson but is open to a loan option to ease his salary burden, especially as the Blues pursue Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. Reports confirmed Jackson will not move to Aston Villa despite rumors of reuniting with former coach Unai Emery.

Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal two seasons ago, scoring 30 goals but experiencing a clear decline in form in the latter half of last season, netting only once in his last 15 Premier League matches. With Chelsea signing Liam Delap and João Pedro in a double deal worth £100 million, Jackson’s chances of starting are threatened.
