Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump participated in a meeting at the Oval Office in the White House (AFP).
In a humorous mix of “revenge and joke,” Zelensky embarrassed a journalist who had previously asked why he was not wearing a formal suit during his visit to the White House in February.
This time, Zelensky appeared to have addressed the issue by wearing a stylish black jacket, prompting the journalist to praise his appearance, while US President Donald Trump also expressed admiration for Zelensky’s elegance this time.
However, Zelensky took advantage of the moment to joke at the journalist, saying, “This is the same suit you wore at the last conference; I changed my clothes, but you didn’t.”
It is worth noting that the February meeting witnessed slight tension between Trump and Zelensky after the journalist asked why he was not wearing a formal suit, saying, “Why don’t you wear a suit? You hold the highest position in your country and refuse to wear a suit. Do you own a suit? Many Americans see this as disrespectful to your status.”
Zelensky then replied sarcastically, “I will wear the formal attire after the war ends.”
