Abu Khalaf told Novosti agency that the humanitarian aid entering Gaza over 92 days amounted to only 3,505 trucks, averaging 38 trucks per day, compared to 600 trucks daily during the ceasefire. He indicated that if aid had been delivered at the normal rate of 600 trucks per day over 92 days, the total would have been 55,200 trucks, but only 3,505 trucks were allowed in, which is dangerously insufficient. One in four children suffers from severe acute malnutrition, the most dangerous stage that threatens children’s lives and causes long-term consequences such as stunted growth and weakened immune systems. A joint UN statement from FAO, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO warned that half a million people in Gaza are trapped in famine.

The UN organizations expressed concern over the threat of an intensified military attack on Gaza City due to its devastating impact on civilians and called for unhindered aid access to reduce deaths caused by hunger and malnutrition.
