The Jordanian national football team will face Albania tonight at 8 PM in a friendly match at the Albania Air Stadium in Tirana, as part of preparations for the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 and the 2026 World Cup finals.
The team concluded its training yesterday in Tirana under coach Jamal Salami, with 28 players present out of the 30 initially called up before the Turkey camp, after excluding Yazan Al-Arab due to injury and his return to Amman then South Korea, and Ibrahim Sabra who was injured in the friendly against Bolivia last Friday.
The available squad includes: Yazid Abu Layla, Nour Al-Din Bani Atiya, Malik Shalabiya, Abdullah Naseeb, Youssef Abu Al-Jazar, Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi, Hadi Al-Hourani, Salim Obeid, Saad Al-Rousan, Muhannad Abu Taha, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Ali Hajbi, Adham Al-Quraishi, Issam Samiri, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Ibrahim Saada, Nour Al-Din Al-Rawabdeh, Amer Jamous, Ahmad Al-Salman, Mousa Al-Tamari, Mahmoud Muradi, Ali Alwan, Ali Azaiza, Mohammad Abu Zureiq “Sharara”, Ouda Fakhouri, Abdullah Al-Shaibatat, Rizq Bani Hani, and Yazan Al-Naimat.
The technical staff led by Salami aims from this match to finalize or nearly finalize the team lineup for upcoming official competitions, starting with the Arab Cup and continuing preparations for the World Cup. Another international break is scheduled next month from the 10th to the 18th, during which the team will play important friendlies, expected against African and European teams.
The coach stated that the match against Albania will be subject to special technical criteria aligned with the coach’s vision and the team’s capabilities, the nature of the opponent, and the current stage. The match provides a valuable tactical test, high-level competitive experience, application of new tactical schemes, and aims to expand player options before major competitions, as well as improve the international ranking.
Al-Nashama will start their Arab Cup journey by playing against the UAE on December 3rd, then face the winner of the playoff between Kuwait and Mauritania on December 6th, and conclude the group stage by playing Egypt on December 9th.
Albania is ranked 66th globally in the FIFA rankings, with a market value of 90 million euros. The team is nicknamed “The Eagles” and is known for its European style of football characterized by tactical discipline.
The Albanian squad includes 5 players in the Italian league, notably Christian Asllani who plays for Inter Milan, along with players in the English Premier League, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Croatian, and Russian leagues.
