The Palestinian Ministry of Finance announced on Monday that the Norwegian government has agreed to provide additional support to the general budget amounting to 4 million US dollars, as part of an amendment to the previously signed agreement between the two sides.

The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” reported that the announcement came during a meeting between Palestinian Finance Minister Omar Baytar and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative Erik Bergsjø at the ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance financial and economic cooperation between the countries.

Minister Baytar affirmed that this support reflects Norway’s firm commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and backing the government’s efforts to strengthen the resilience of state institutions and sustain public services, praising Norway’s positive role as an active partner in supporting Palestinian economic development.

On his part, the Norwegian official emphasized the continuation of joint cooperation between the two countries to contribute to enhancing financial stability and enabling the Palestinian government to fulfill its obligations towards its citizens.
