Dakahlia Governorate places great emphasis and support on the Gomsa Industrial Zone and industrial investment in general, providing all forms of support to investors by offering the best services and removing all obstacles to boost production and increase the national economy. This is evident from the extensive construction works in the area.
The governorate has a plan to develop, beautify, and secure the industrial zone to enhance its urban appearance and aesthetic level, aiming for a safe and stable environment.
The industrial zone was established on a total area of 727 feddans, divided into four phases:
Phase 1: 202 feddans (153 factories)
Phase 2: 175 feddans (64 factories)
Phase 3: 175 feddans (103 factories)
Phase 4: 175 feddans (84 factories).
Expansions and detailed planning: In January 2025, the governor approved a detailed plan covering 835 feddans, including 4 phases with 453 existing factories.
Phase 5 includes 198 industrial plots and 2 service plots totaling about 200 plots, with an expected 130 new factories to be established.
Security systems have been upgraded with electronic systems and surveillance cameras, and cleaning services have been enhanced through contracts with specialized companies.
New expansions: By March 2025, 108 feddans were fully serviced, and studies began to annex an additional 141.8 feddans as an extension of the industrial zone.
Complete servicing: All allocated lands have been equipped with utilities and infrastructure, making them 100% ready for investment. A comprehensive development plan was set in June 2025 including improving internal road networks, completing the external fence, establishing a sewage treatment plant, and implementing environmental protection mechanisms against harmful emissions.
Unused land management: Committees have been formed to monitor unoccupied lands, reclaim them from non-serious investors, and reoffer them for investment.
Investor communication: Regular meetings are held between the governorate and investors to study challenges and solve them, establishing a continuous follow-up mechanism.
Dakahlia Governorate continuously seeks to develop infrastructure, expand through five phases, plan an additional 141.8 feddans expansion, support investment, fully service utilities, create services and logistics, and maintain effective communication with investors.
Compliance and regulation include reclaiming unused lands, enhancing security, improving environmental services, with future goals of a modern industrial environment, attracting investments, increasing exports, and providing job opportunities.
