Tripoli, 1 September 2025 (WAL) – The Central Bank of Libya announced today, Monday, that the currency notes of the “Twenty Dinars” first and second issues, the sixth, seventh, and amended seventh issues of the “Five Dinars” category, and the sixth, seventh, and first issues of the “One Dinar” category targeted for withdrawal from circulation remain legal and valid for transactions and must be accepted in all daily dealings, including at commercial banks, until the deadline for withdrawing these denominations.
The bank confirmed that the last date for accepting these specified currency notes at commercial banks is the close of business on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
The Central Bank called on all banks and their branches to enable customers to deposit the mentioned currency denominations into their current accounts and to organize the process in a way that ensures smooth and easy deposit operations within the specified timeframe.
