Sources within the General Syndicate of Doctors revealed preliminary results of the vote count in the midterm elections held the day before yesterday, indicating that all candidates from the “Future List” won the 12 seats of the General Syndicate Council.
According to sources cited by “Al-Shorouk”, the preliminary results showed that three candidates won seats for the over-age category: Ahmed Al-Sharbini with approximately 6,942 votes, Gamal Ameera with 6,213 votes, and Yasser Helmy with 4,770 votes.
For the under-age seats, Ahmed Bahles won with 5,245 votes, Ahmed Zahran with about 7,000 votes, and Khaled Amin Zare’ with 6,000 votes.
At the sector level, Iman Suleiman won the Cairo sector seat with 252 votes, Ayman Hendawy won the North Upper Egypt sector with 1,034 votes, Ayman Salem won the East Delta sector with 1,733 votes, Hussein Nada won the Central Delta sector with 1,274 votes, Mohamed Farid Hamdi won the West Delta sector by acclamation, and Mostafa Hashem won the South Upper Egypt sector by acclamation.
The preliminary vote count for the midterm elections of the Cairo Doctors’ Syndicate showed that Joseph Waheed, Emad Sultan, and Mostafa Selim won the over-age seats, while Sherif Amara, Yahya Dweir, Marina Baher, and Nawal Mustafa won the under-age seats. With this preliminary result, the Future List secured all seats of the Cairo branch of the Doctors’ Syndicate.
Meanwhile, the committees supervising the midterm elections of the Doctors’ Syndicate in the governorates announced the final counting results.
The midterm elections for the Doctors’ Syndicate in Qena Governorate concluded in a calm and organized atmosphere, under full judicial supervision by the Administrative Prosecution headed by advisors Yasser Al-Hawari and Ahmed Wasfi. The results showed the victory of Mahmoud Owais and Amr Hamed in the over-age seats, and Ahmed Hussein and Walid Abu Al-Abbas in the under-age seats.
Mohamed Al-Deeb, the head of the Qena Doctors’ Syndicate and the election committee chairman, confirmed that the electoral process was transparent and disciplined, praising the great cooperation between doctors and organizational committees, considering the wide participation as evidence of doctors’ awareness and keenness to support their syndicate institution.
The judicial committee supervising the midterm elections of the sub-council of the Doctors’ Syndicate in Beheira Governorate announced the victory of Hossam Daabis and Hanan Khalif in the over-age seats, and Mahmoud Al-Ghannam and Mohamed Noah Saad Noah in the under-age seats.
The midterm elections for the Doctors’ Syndicate in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate witnessed competition among candidates, resulting in the victory of Ayman Mukhaymar and Amani Basha in the over-age seats, and Hazem Al-Gamal and Ibrahim Hamdi in the under-age seats, after receiving the highest votes.
It is worth noting that the midterm elections for the Doctors’ Syndicate saw competition between the “Future List” and the “Egypt Doctors Coalition”, which lost all seats in the General Syndicate while the Future List won all seats.
The number of candidates for the General Syndicate was 42 competing for 12 seats, two of whom won by acclamation due to lack of competitors, while the number of candidates in the sub-syndicates reached 225.
The Future List revealed details of its electoral program, which included monitoring the issuance of executive decisions (the executive regulations) of the Medical Liability Law, tracking mechanisms for its implementation on the ground, evaluating the resulting outcomes to ensure justice and protect the rights of doctors and patients, preventing pretrial detention in professional cases, and banning publication in cases of complications and medical damages except after a final ruling.
The program also included working on applying the financial regulations for doctors under the comprehensive health insurance to all ministry and government doctors to increase their income, striving to establish a supplementary pension fund for doctors to increase the government pension, preserving the funds of the Medical Professions Union, preventing their waste, and working on developing them and improving stamp duty collection.
