A health study indicated that hot, cold, and iced coffee all contain beneficial antioxidants, but the difference lies in the preparation method and its effect on the body, according to the website “Free Will Health.”
Hot coffee offers balanced flavors and a higher concentration of antioxidants, while cold coffee is less acidic and gentler on the stomach and teeth, as coffee beans are soaked in cold or room temperature water for about 12 hours to produce a smooth, less acidic drink.
Iced coffee is prepared with hot water, then cooled and served with ice, and it has a medium acidity and flavor.
Regarding caffeine, a large cup of cold brew coffee may contain about 205 milligrams of caffeine, compared to 165 milligrams in iced coffee, while the caffeine amount in hot coffee varies depending on the brewing strength.
Studies confirm that all three types maintain coffee’s benefits in improving focus and reducing the risk of heart diseases, with the best choice depending on individual tolerance and personal taste.
