The Ministry of Interior today issued a statement regarding the execution of the death penalty for two criminals in the Najran region. The statement included Quranic verses condemning corruption and crime on earth.
Abdulwali Mohammed Abdi Ali and Hussein Mahdi Buri Ali, both Somali nationals, were caught smuggling hashish into the Kingdom. Thanks to the security authorities, they were arrested, investigated, and charged with the crime. The competent court sentenced them to death by execution, a ruling that became final after appeal and was upheld by the Supreme Court. A royal order was issued to enforce the sentence according to Sharia law.
The death penalty was carried out on Sunday, 8/3/1447 AH, corresponding to 31/8/2025 AD, in the Najran region.
The Ministry of Interior announces this to emphasize the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to protecting the security of citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs and imposing the severest legal penalties on traffickers and dealers, due to the harm caused by drugs including loss of innocent lives, serious corruption of individuals and society, and violation of rights. The Ministry also warns anyone who attempts such crimes that they will face the prescribed Sharia punishment.
