Al-Ghandour said on Facebook that El-Shenawy’s presence as a starter shortly after his father’s tragic accident shows his strong character and sense of responsibility, proving he deserves to be captain of a big and historic club like Al Ahly. Al Ahly had relied on Mostafa Shobeir in the previous two matches against Modern Sport and Pharco, drawing 2-2 in the first and winning 4-1 in the second.
