Amman, September 1 (Petra) – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Monday that approximately 3,115 families of martyrs from the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army and security agencies will benefit from a Cabinet decision to install grid-connected solar cell systems in the homes of martyrs’ families.
The ministry added that under the decision, it will issue and refer the necessary tenders to implement the project after receiving the lists of beneficiaries from the Directorate of Personnel Affairs / Social Support Division. It indicated that a 3.6 kW solar power system will be installed for each home, provided that the beneficiary owns the home where the system will be installed, whether inside or outside the organized areas.
The decision also requires, if the home is part of a building with multiple apartments, obtaining no objection from the building residents, in addition to submitting a set of documents including a site plan, land plan, registration deed, a copy of the beneficiary’s ID, and a clearance certificate from the concerned electricity distribution company.
The ministry pointed out that the Cabinet decision, approved yesterday, comes within the framework of national efforts to honor martyrs’ families and alleviate their living burdens, alongside supporting the Kingdom’s directions to enhance reliance on renewable energy sources.
