In July 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 898 requests for industrial customs exemptions as part of its efforts to encourage local industry and enhance its global competitiveness. These requests included 4,641 items of raw materials and 9,752 items of machinery, equipment, and spare parts. The customs exemption service is part of a package of incentives and services provided by the industry and mining system to facilitate the industrial investor’s journey from idea to production and export. The service aligns with the national industry strategy goals by empowering and developing the Saudi industrial sector. The ministry ensures that industrial facilities receive customs exemptions quickly through streamlined procedures via the digital platform “Sanaii”.
This service supports local factories, develops national production sectors, reduces production costs, and creates new industrial opportunities by exempting licensed industrial establishments from customs duties on imports of machinery, equipment, spare parts, raw materials, semi-finished materials, and packaging materials directly used in production.
