British police arrested 423 people during the two days of the Notting Hill Carnival. The event saw two stabbing incidents with no life-threatening injuries to the victims. Authorities deployed over 7,000 officers to maintain security during the event. Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s largest street festival held annually since 1964, attracts over a million visitors. The carnival usually experiences a rise in crime rates, especially related to knife crimes, drug use, and illegal trafficking. However, officials noted that the level of serious violence this year was much lower compared to previous years.
