The battle continues between the national teams of Senegal and Congo for direct qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup from Group 2 of the African qualifiers, after Senegal secured a 5-0 victory over South Sudan, maintaining their lead with 21 points.

At the same time, Congo won 1-0 against Togo, remaining in second place with 19 points, two points behind Senegal, ahead of the final round which will feature Senegal against Mauritania, while Congo will face Sudan.

It is noted that the first place qualifies directly to the World Cup, while the second place enters the playoffs.
