President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, honored a number of distinguished figures and scholars by awarding them the Order of Science and Arts, First Class, during the grand celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf today, Wednesday, at the Al-Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo.

The honorees from inside Egypt included: Professor Dr. Galal El-Din Ismail Hassan Agwa – Professor of Hadith at the Graduate Studies Faculty of Al-Azhar University and member of the Senior Scholars Authority; Professor Dr. Raja Mustafa Hazin Abu Zeid – Professor of Hadith and its Sciences at the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for Girls in Cairo and former Dean of the same faculty at Al-Qalyubia branch of Al-Azhar University; Sheikh Dr. Mahmoud Embaby Amin Qanawi – former Deputy of Al-Azhar and member of the Islamic Research Academy; Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahim Mohamed El-Bayoumi – Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and former Dean of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion and Da’wa at Al-Azhar University, Zagazig branch; Professor Dr. Hala Ramadan Ali Abdullah – Professor of Psychology and Director of the National Center for Social and Criminal Research; and Mr.

Abdel Rahman Khaled Sadiq Khaled – General Manager at the Ministry of Awqaf.

Honorees from outside Egypt included: Dr. Seymur Nasirov – Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University, President of the Azerbaijani Community in Egypt, and Chairman of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association; Dr. Jim Osman Dramé – Director of Religious Affairs at the Presidency Institution in the Republic of Senegal and researcher in the Department of Research, Manuscripts, and Islamic Studies at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal.

In a gesture of appreciation and recognition of the martyrs, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi awarded the First Class Medal of Merit posthumously to the heroic martyr Khaled Mohamed Shawky Abdel Aal, who embodied the highest meaning of sacrifice by removing a burning fuel truck away from a residential area to save the residents, sacrificing his life. The award was received by his wife, Mrs. Samah Abdel Maqsoud Mohamed, and his children: Ahmed, Menna Allah, Aya, and Hadeer.

This honor reflects the political leadership’s keenness to celebrate scholars and innovators, appreciating their role in spreading awareness and building society, alongside commemorating the martyrs who set the finest examples of devotion and sacrifice for the homeland.
