The Palestinian Presidency strongly condemned the heinous crime committed by Israeli occupation forces at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, which resulted in the martyrdom of five Palestinian journalists while performing their professional and humanitarian duty covering the genocidal war against the Palestinian people. The Presidency affirmed that targeting journalists constitutes a blatant violation of international law and agreements that guarantee the protection of journalists and freedom of media work, describing it as a new war crime added to a long series of crimes and massacres committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people in an attempt to silence the voice of truth represented by the Palestinian media.
The Presidency stressed that the continued targeting of journalists and media institutions by the occupation requires urgent action by the international community, especially the Security Council and the United Nations, to provide protection for journalists and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes. It also held the occupation government fully responsible for this heinous crime, calling on human rights organizations and relevant international bodies to intervene immediately to stop these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists, the knights of truth and the voice of the free Palestinian people.
