The ADNOC Pro League for football, at the start of the new season, ranked second in Asia in terms of the market value of professional clubs, with a total exceeding 369 million euros (1.58 billion dirhams), due to contracts signed by clubs during the summer “transfer window” which began in early June.
The website “Transfermarkt”, specialized in global football data and statistics, revealed that the most expensive squad (11 players) included in “Dorina” across all positions from goalkeeper, defense, midfield, to attack, has a total market value of 58.6 million euros (251.6 million dirhams).
The list was topped by Iranian international Sardar Azmoun, who won the quadruple with Shabab Al Ahli last season, with a market value of eight million euros (34.3 million dirhams), one million euros ahead of Al Ain player Moroccan Sofiane Rahimi, making the total market value of the attacking line reach 15 million euros (64.3 million dirhams).
The market value of the top midfield quartet in the squad totaled 23.5 million euros (100.8 million dirhams), led by Al Jazira player Nabil Fekir with seven million euros (30 million dirhams), surpassing Al Wasl player Fabio Lima by half a million euros, while Sharjah players Firas Al-Barabi and Luan Pereira share the same total value of five million euros each (21.5 million dirhams).
The defensive quartet in the squad held the second highest market value with a total of 19.5 million euros (88.6 million dirhams), with the new arrivals to the defense lines of Al Jazira and Al Wasl, Brazilian Willian Rocha and Portuguese Pedro Malheiro, sharing the top spot with six million euros each (25.7 million dirhams), two million euros ahead of Al Nasr defender Glauber Lima, and Al Wasl defender Brazilian Adrilson ranked fourth with a market value of 3.5 million euros (15 million dirhams).
Al Wasl goalkeeper Moroccan Anas Zniti stood out in the goalkeeper list with a market value of 650 thousand euros (2.8 million dirhams), slightly ahead of Shabab Al Ahli goalkeeper Hamad Al Maqbali who recorded a market value of 600 thousand euros (2.5 million dirhams).
The total market value of the clubs reached 1.58 billion dirhams, placing the Pro League second in Asia.
