We have lost the ability to diagnose due to the occupation that deprived us of everything.
According to a report by Gaza correspondent Nour Khaled, Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City witnessed a large influx of patients with symptoms closely resembling those of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Mohammed Abu Salmiya, said the new disease symptoms include high fever, severe cough, headache, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Al-Barsh revealed that 17 deaths due to malnutrition were recorded in the last 48 hours, meaning that approximately every 3 hours a malnutrition death is registered. He described it as a strange paradox that this happens after the United Nations declared famine in Gaza.
He also confirmed that the sector’s hospitals can no longer accommodate the large number of martyrs and injured, as the health system is in a major paralysis.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip pointed out that the biggest victims of the Israeli war are children protected by international law, revealing that 142 have died due to hunger, including 61 cases since the UN declared famine, among them 9 children.
Al-Barsh summarized the scene in besieged and starving Gaza by saying, “Infants are dying in incubators due to lack of milk and medicine, and children’s bodies have turned into skeletons.”
