Israeli occupation forces published rare documents today, Sunday, found in the Gaza Strip. These documents show detailed instructions issued by the late Yahya Sinwar, commander of Hamas, to the Al-Qassam Brigades members before launching the attack on settlements and military bases around Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The documents emphasize the necessity of intensive troop movements weeks before the operation to appear routine to the enemy and serve as cover for the major movement. They stress the importance of spreading images that evoke euphoria and frenzy among the Palestinian people, especially in the West Bank, inside Israel, Jerusalem, and the wider Arab nation, to justify calls for revolution. Simultaneously, they aim to instill terror and panic in the enemy.

The instructions include deliberate acts such as stepping on soldiers’ heads, shooting them at point-blank range, stabbing some with knives, blowing up tanks, and capturing prisoners shown kneeling with hands on their heads. The plan also calls for staged events producing terrifying images, such as burning car bombs exploding in locations causing massive destruction and fires.

Specific locations are identified for initial attacks: one in the north (Erez Crossing), one east of Gaza (Nahal Oz), and a third opposite the central area. After the first wave, bulldozers are to open gates, remove obstacles, and clear roads. Following 10 to 15 minutes from the start of the attack, all forces are to be summoned according to a prearranged plan, with clear distribution and communication protocols for each brigade commander.

The plan includes multiple waves of attack, with known objectives and maps sealed with brigade commanders. Northern brigade targets focus mainly on the coastal strip, Gaza brigade towards the northeast with some variation, central brigade more towards the northeast and east, Khan Younis brigade eastward, and Rafah brigade towards the southeast.
