The Qatar Chess Federation announced the participation of 12 players in various tournaments as part of the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, which started the day before yesterday and continues until August 24. The Executive Director of the Qatar Chess Federation, Hamad Mohammed Al-Tamimi, said the festival carries a great name in the chess world, with elite players from 82 countries participating, providing a valuable experience and significant interaction for Qatari players with other competitors. He also explained that the Qatari capital Doha has completed all preparations to host the 2025 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship in December, expecting participation between 300 and 400 players from around the world according to the standards and rankings of the competitors, hoping for a distinguished Gulf participation in the tournament.
