In light of the peace proposal presented by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, the United Nations confirmed its support for these efforts.
A UN spokesperson told reporters in New York in response to a question about Trump’s plan, “We welcome all mediation efforts, and the United Nations is ready to provide support, including, as expected, humanitarian aid.”
The spokesperson added, “As you know, the United Nations has been following all the various mediation efforts carried out by different mediators, whether we are talking about this effort by the United States or other efforts by Qatar and Egypt.”
Trump’s peace proposal, published by the White House on Monday shortly before the press conference between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, states that if both sides agree to this proposal, the war will end immediately.
