Syria is going through a critical phase in dealing with Kurdish components amid fears of any breakdown that could lead to chaos or the division of Syrian territories. These concerns coincide with political meetings and discussions that are moving towards accelerating integration mechanisms between Kurdish groups and the Syrian state, amid significant challenges on the ground and ongoing dilemmas regarding sovereignty and local decision-making.

Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaybani emphasized during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Wednesday the danger of supporting chaos in Syria, explaining that his country faces major challenges due to external interventions aimed at creating divisive realities on the ground.

A statement indicated that Syria is “ready to participate in implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and forming a comprehensive transitional ruling body,” adding that excluding influential forces representing millions of Syrians “will lead to the failure of the political process.”
